Enthusiastic Mindset, Part II

October 2007 Month of Enthusiasm!
How Your Mind & Thoughts Affect Enthusiasm

Enthusiasm is such a rich and broad topic. With myriad facets it is important to note that there is no one specific source of or way that our experience of enthusiasm is generated. The insights and awarenesses from my programs, surveys and articles allow us the opportunity to take responsibility for our overall well-being, which includes ways to ignite the spark of enthusiasm and keep it.

A lively discussion on attitude, thoughts and choice related to enthusiasm came up in a recent program. This lead to references from Enthusiasm! How To Draw It To Yourself & Keep It where various survey comments are shared as they relate to where enthusiasm comes from.

Enthusiasm! Comes from…the Mind

Enthusiasm is a mindset
Anticipation of doing something positive
Because you are thinking about it
Being in the moment
Dreams of what will occur
Positive outlook
Satisfied with…life
Positive state of mind
Mind, mental state

Enthusiasm! Comes from…our Thoughts

Energy generated by good ideas
Because you are thinking about it
Realization that this is my life and success depends on it
Thinking positive
General state of well-being
From thinking about it and starting it (goal, task, project…)

Look back over the above comments. Which ones might be relevant for you? Is there anything else you might add to the list? Also consider what you might do on a daily basis to tune your mind and thoughts into enthusiasm for the various tasks and opportunities you have planned for the day.

Now take a moment to reflect on the following personal insight quotes:

“…Within yourself. If you act positively, live life with the right attitude and set your mind in the right direction, you have the basis from which enthusiasm is derived.”

“…the way you react to events in your life. If you have a positive outlook on the things that happen to you, you will be enthusiastic.”

“Me, my head. I think it therefore I AM! More of a process of thought, idea and then physiology to look and act the part and feel it not just the thought but all of it.”

“Enthusiasm is a state of mind that inspires and arouses a person to action.”
— W. Clement Stone

The more aware you become of your thoughts, the easier it is to maintain an enthusiastic mindset. Then watch the magic happen.
