Thoughts on Enthusiasm!

Thoughts on Enthusiasm!

Long-time readers have come to understand there are many factors related to enthusiasm.

Consider the following insight.

"Mastery does not come from dabbling. We have to be prepared to pay the price. We need to have the sustained enthusiasm that motivates us to give our best."

— Eknath Easwaran

Eknath Easwaran has given us several things to think about. For example,

“Mastery does not come from dabbling.”
Mastery refers to great knowledge or skill, something that comes with commitment, time and attention.

“We have to be prepared to pay the price.”
Sometimes the price we pay involves money. Other times the price paid relates to overcoming obstacles, persevering and doing whatever it takes.

“We need to have the sustained enthusiasm that motivates us to give our best.”
The simplest way to realize sustained enthusiasm is to identify what causes you to become enthusiastic/excited/passionate/energized…then bring it into your life on a daily basis. (Check the Archives for previous posts on causes of enthusiasm, getting and keeping enthusiasm and related topics.)

So what are you waiting for? Hmmm perhaps you are wondering where or how to start. If that is the case consider the following from that wise sage Anonymous:

* Now is the time.
* Life’s too short, don’t wait.
* The only way to begin is to begin.
* All you need lies within.
* You’ll never know how far you can reach until you stretch.
* You don’t have to go it alone. Reach out to a coach or mentor to hold your dream and offer support.

And one more thought from me, remember to be open to joy along the way.

In the Flow of Mastery,

Antoinette
